Happy Fall Y’all We spent the month of September getting the Ponies used to their new classroom & playground, talked about what makes them special, found out who their family & friends are, and said good-bye to summer and hello to autumn. Some of the children’s favorite things have been learning new songs, creating a picture of what they look like (displayed in the classroom above the cubbies), playing with peppermint play dough, and riding the zip line. The photo above is from our field trip to Lewisville Park. We played at the playground, collected sticks, pine-cones, moss, and pine needles on our nature walk, skipped rocks into the river (at least tried…haha), and had a picnic lunch. A new teacher has joined our classroom. Please welcome Angela! She has her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her four children, who range in age from 7 to 15, are named Demetrius, Gage, Cypress, & Trinity. She will be available Tues, Wed, and Thurs 9:30-1:30 PM. She is looking forward to getting to know all of the children and parents in the Pony class. October will be filled with talk about the farm, farm animals, and food from the farm. Wednesday, October 7th we will be taking a field trip to Bizi Farms and bringing a pumkin home from the pumkin patch. All of the Ponies are welcome to come even if it is not your regular day to come to school. Please don’t forget that the Country Friends Parent Orientation meeting is Thursday, October 15th 6-8 PM. Cold, rainy days are upon us and we do our best to get the kids outside. Please make sure they have warm layers and a change of clothes. We do have extra mud puddle boots if you’re child needs them. Please let us know if you have comments or concerns. Have a great month & enjoy the autumn colors! Quote of the month: Miss Darci – “Say excuse me when you burp.” Drew – “I-scuse me.” |
