Happy Harvest

During the first half of the month of October the Pony class enjoyed learning all about the farm, farm animals, and food that comes from the farm. We made muffins using pumpkins that we gutted & baked ourselves, painted pictures using apples & corn, played in the straw, and took a trip to see a real farm. We ended the month by talking about animals that come out at night & different types of insects.

In November we’re planning to talk about different types of transportation. Air transportation in honor of Aviation History Month, Veteran’s & their corresponding vehicles (soldiers/tanks, pilots/jets, and seaman/ ships or submarines), and the type of transportation used to get to Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving.

JJ Jump will be the location of our next field trip on Friday 11/13. Permission slips are in your files [or download, link in right-side column] so please turn them in soon with the fee. We will be hosting our Thanksgiving Harvest Lunch on Nov. 18th 11:45-12:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to join us! We will be closed Thursday & Friday 11/26 – 11/27.

I know many of your households have already been affected by this year’s flu season (my own included). I want to reassure you that we have the children wash their hands regularly throughout the day, clean the classroom daily using a bleach solution, disinfect & wash the classroom toys weekly, and notify parents immediately if we think a child is ill. You can help us by keeping your child home until they are fever free for 24 hours. We will continue to do our best to keep your children healthy while they are a part of our class.

Please let us know if you have comments or concerns. We wish you an illness free month & Happy Thanksgiving a little early!

Quote of the month: Miss Rebecca – “What fruit does apple juice come from?” Max – “Tomatoes.”
